Kombucha

Kombucha is a brewed beverage that my good friend Nance introduced me to in the early 90s.  I've been making and drinking it for years because of its  energizing and healing properties and have in turn introduced many others to it.  For a web research course at OCC, I enumerated the benefits of kombucha and compiled a list of online sources of information on how to brew it and the benefits to be derived.  (More information available at links.)


MSM

My reflexologist, Rose, first told me about MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), the third largest solid component found in the body.  Food refining and processing with heat removes MSM in much the same way they reduce the vitamins and minerals found in whole, raw, organic foods.   Because we don't always get the daily nutrients needed by our bodies, I've added the daily supplementation of MSM powder as a boost to energy, detoxification, increased immunity, flexibility and blood circulation.   (More information available at links.)

Ellynne, my good friend and massage therapist, introduced me to Juice Plus.  Because much of the food we eat tends to be over-processed, overcooked, or too far removed from the field, and thus lacking much of the nutrition provided by fresh, raw fruits and vegetables, I supplement with JP+ fruit and vegetable capsules.  They're recommended by many prominent holistic physicians, as they are whole food supplements made from a variety of fruits and vegetables, not a highly-processed, highly-fragmented vitamin or mineral supplement.  (More information available at links.)
